高2 修学旅行 1班 3日目

Good evening,

Day three of the school trip for group 1 was a long one. We started the day by racing the weather to Kurobe Dam. The views were amazing, the tunnels were awe inspiring, and the rain came just as we left the building.

After lunch at the wasabi farm, we drove through the storm to the Tomioka silk factory, something our students have studied before. Our friendly guides explained about the influence of the French, and how Japan eventually became the leading producer of silk.

In the evening we arrived in the heart of Tokyo and saw all the bright lights. After a filling dinner, we are now settling into our stay at the Olympic Center. It is quiet and peaceful outside, with many trees, which is amazing since we are in the middle of the biggest city in the world.

Here are a few pictures from our day. Tomorrow is another full one, so see you tomorrow night!

There is a great lookout to view the dam and the surrounding mountains…
… but it is hard work to climb all those stairs. (258, I counted!)
The wasabi farm was famous for its ice cream, among other things. Mamas and Popas, you may be eating wasabi omiyage in the near future!
After that, our Anpanman teruterubozu had some serious work to do…
… but he was stronger than a typhoon, the weather cleared, and we could visit the Tomioka silk factory. Good job Anpanman!
The bus was filled with oohs and ahhs as we drove through the heart of Tokyo. Our country girls were in the big city!
We ate dinner in the sumo area of town, filling up on chanko nabe. We will need all our energy for tomorrow!
