Hello everyone! Did the thunder and lightning keep you awake last night? I watched the lightning flashing through the sky last night, and I remembered the summer storms of my youth back in Canada. It was magical.
Letter one, from Alan in America.
Today I want to tell you about an interesting project that the second grade junior high school students are doing. Starting in April, we received some letters from an elementary school in America, “Vinson-Owen Elementary School”. The students in America were studying about Japan, and so they had some questions about school life in Japan.
Moe writes back to Alan.
The American students are young, about 7 or 8 years old, so their questions were fun to read. Our students in classes A, B, C, and D wrote to them. Sometimes it was difficult to understand the English, and other times it was difficult to understand the culture. But, it was fun for students to use their English for a goal.
Alan again writes to Moe
Now we are just finishing the second round of letters. Soon our students will have their school trip to Nagasaki, and it will be summer vacation for the students in America. With 70 students in America and 126 students here, this has been a big challenge! I want to say thank you to Mr. Tsuji for offering this chance, and Ms. Karen Maruyama in America for helping organize so much. I hope this project has been fun for everybody!
Finally, a big HIGH FIVE to my homeroom, class M1A! For the month of May, nobody was absent from, or late to, school! Perfect zeros! Keep it going everyday!
