Hello everyone,
The weather is getting hotter and hotter, so it is time to find a shady place to cool off. Not only people, but also nature needs an escape from the sun. Last Monday around 11:00am I was teaching on the 5F of the school when my students and I saw something flash down the hallway. “Mr. Allen! That was a bird!” my students said.
Well, no more learning was going to happen until we found out more about this bird. I exited the classroom, looked up the stairs, and saw our new friend by the window. I named him “Pazu”, from “Castle in the Sky”.
Pazu obviously wanted to get outside, because he was flapping his wings hard and trying to find a way through the glass. I didn’t want him to hurt himself, and I didn’t want him to make a big mess of feathers, etc, in the school.
So, I went to the very top of the staircase where there is a small window and a door to the roof. Pazu got scared as I got close so I had to be quick. I opened the windows at the very top of the stairs and started to wave my arms and say “fly, Pazu, fly!”
…

With Pazu looking at me, and seemingly uninterested in leaving, I continued to wave my arms and try to get him out through the window. Pazu was nervous, spread his wings, and….

The window was obviously not going to work. Running out of ideas, and running out of time, I went to get the key for the roof door. With the big door open, and with the help of two brave students waving brooms, we finally got Pazu outside and back into the sunshine. Hopefully he immediately forgets this adventure and doesn’t bring his friends next time.
I hope you have a good week, and that you find yoruself a safe place from the typhoon on Wednesday. H2 students, enjoy your school trip!
