The final exams are over, and there are now only eight school days left until the end of this school year.

So look back.  How were your exam results?  Not just of the final exams, but all of the exams this year.  Have you achieved the results you want?  How was the 2024 school year for you?

And now look ahead.  You have eight days of school, and then spring vacation will begin.  Now would be a good time to start making plans for next school year.  You can use the remainder of March to adjust your plans and work on your weak points.

A student, Miss M, came to me yesterday.  She had been afraid of doing badly on the tests, so she tried hard and received an even better score on her tests this time than she had expected. She was very happy. She looked back at all her efforts, and they have been rewarded.

Then she looked ahead.  She thought of universities that she wanted to go to, and started thinking how she could achieve a good English score.

“Xan sensei, help! I want to go to this university, but I’m not sure I can do it!  Please help me make a study plan to get there.”

I wish she had started to be so focused and forward-thinking a little earlier.  But nevertheless, earlier is better than later; now is better than tomorrow.
