Hello everyone,

Today is the first day of tests for high school students, and junior high school students will start tomorrow. I know you are busy studying, but it will be over soon! After your tests are finished you will have a winter holiday. That is the perfect time to read a book and enjoy relaxing in the kotatsu.

My mother and I are very different. After my mother reads a book, she will never read it again. She says “there are so many wonderful stories out there, why waste time and read something twice?” I feel the opposite way. For me, reading a story again is like having a visit from an old friend. Some books I have read more than ten times!

So, this winter I am going to visit a very very old friend. I last visited them in high school, almost thirty years ago. I’m looking forward to hearing what they have to say again.Good luck on your tests!
