Here is today’s bible talk for February 13th, 2023. It was especially timely since today is a rainy day! Did you bring your bicycle?
2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Today I underlined the word perseverance.
Every day after the morning meeting I go and do a bicycle check. I write the date and weather on the paper, and then check who came by bicycle, and who didn’t. This is a simple job, but it tells me a lot about a student.
Some people remember to lock their bicycle every day, and some people forget their key. Some people ride their bicycle when the weather is sunny, but do not when the weather is rainy.
On the other hand, there are a few people who ride their bicycle every day. In English we say, “rain or shine”. They remember to lock their bicycle every day.
I know, sometimes it is hard to wake up in the morning, but perseverance is what makes you strong. It is an important part of growing up. Persevering with small things, like your bicycle, will give you the power to overcome bigger problems.
Soon grade 3 students will have their graduation ceremony. During it, students who have come to school every day for a year, for three years, and for six years will be recognized. That is a great achievement or perseverance, and should be celebrated, as should every graduate who has been tested and come through a high school life that was less than normal.
