2020 School Video – Nov. 2020

Hello everyone,

The test schedule comes out tomorrow, have you already started preparing for tests? The second term is very long, so there is a lot of material to study. Make your plan, and good luck!

Yesterday at home I was watching Youtube and noticed that the school video made for Wakayama TV had been uploaded to the school’s channel. I live in Osaka, so it was the first time I was able to see it. I watched it and then shared it with my family back in Canada. Why don’t you take a look?

Nara Trip – Nov. 2020

Hello everyone,

This week is a busy one. Tomorrow is another round of Eiken interview tests, today is an open lesson for parents to watch, and yesterday our volleyball team defeated Kaichi High School 3 sets to 0! Congratulations!

On Wendesday our grades went different places for a one day trip. Of course, thinking about the corona virus, we had to be careful where to go. I think we chose some interesting place and had a good time. For grade 2 junior high school, we went to Nara. While we were there we did a “GPS Quiz”. As groups walked toward a certain spot, they received a question to answer. It was fin seeing everyone get their different scores. Here are some pictures:

We were met by many many deer!
The famous Todaiji Temple.
That is a BIG Buddha.
Here is the GPS quiz and map. As a teacher I could see the scores for every group.
We had some time to relax at the end of the day. So we practiced fireballs.
And of course, we got some omiyage at the end.

Have a great weekend, and get ready for tests coming soon!

A different kind of mass – Nov. 2020

Hello everyone,

Today we held a mass to remember people we have lost this year. It is a chance to remember them and say a prayer. Usually we all gather in the gym together, but that is difficult to do these days. Instead, the first year junior high school classes, the first year high school classes, and students who are remembering someone went to the gym. The rest of the classes watched from their classrooms. We used “Google Meet” to access the camera, and the school’s PA system for the sound. It went pretty well for a first effort. I think we will be able to use this system in the future more often.
